No, this isn't Halloween or some colorful heist — it's a beach in China.

Unlike in the US, where less is more and tanner is better, Chinese women flock to their shores covered in fabric from head to toe.

Donning masks, aka "facekinis," they make a terrifying sight, but these women are absolutely loving the trend.

Let's just hope it doesn't become a global one.

Especially popular at the beach in Qingdao, China, the masks are meant to prevent sunburn and maintain the porcelain teint that's so prized in China.

As the accompanying full body suits prove, China's women aren't taking ANY risks when it comes to their skin. Being tan, to this day, is associated with being a commoner in China.

The head socks also prevent jellyfish stings and protect from algae, which is prevalent in China’s Shandong province.
